Dr. Erik Chaussee

Welcome to Grace Abbott! I am so pleased you have chosen to make our school your school. I know you have many choices as to where to send your children to school due to option enrollment and our district’s transfer policies. Therefore, thank you for sending your very best our way.
This school year marks my 17th year at Abbott. This is the only place I’ve worked in the Millard Public Schools. Prior to working here, I was a teacher and an assistant principal in the Omaha Public Schools and taught in Sioux City, Iowa, where I grew up. I went to school at the University of South Dakota, the University of Iowa, and UNO.
While not at work I enjoy spending time with my four children including two grandchildren. Two kids still live at home so we keep busy with trips to the zoo, the library, the Children’s Museum, other fun places. I also love reading, scrap booking, and playing tennis. Prior to playing tennis I played soccer for about 25 years, coached, and refereed. I knew it was time to quit soccer when no one passed the ball to me anymore. In tennis, they have to hit the ball to you. And, I don’t really scrap book.
